With 9 million euro can be financed projects for adapting to climate change
Climate change adaptation and environmental projects can count on 9 million euro. from the Interreg VI-A program "Romania - Bulgaria " 2021-2027. The funds are from the budget of the open fourth call under the program within priority 2 "Green Region ". The deadline for applications with proposals is February 17, 2025, 1 p.m. This was announced today by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works. The support is aimed at measures for adaptation to climate change and disaster risk prevention, in particular those for: awareness raising, development and implementation of joint strategies, tools, etc., implementation of joint ecosystem measures for adaptation to the change of climate change, for afforestation, conservation and protection of forests, prevention and reversal of desertification through integrated land and water management, supporting water and land management through green solutions. Funding will be given to soft measures where the investment component (construction/infrastructure/equipment) is below 50% of the eligible project budget, as well as hard measures where the investment component is 50% or more of the total eligible budget of the project. Beneficiaries can be national, regional and local representatives of public administration, local authorities, non-governmental organizations, universities, research institutions, business support organizations. Detailed information on the conditions for participation and the submission of application forms in the Jems electronic system is published on the website of the program, as well as on the special section of the page of the Ministry of Education and Culture dedicated to the bilateral program. The Bulgarian regions that can count on funding from the program are Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra and Dobrich.
